Maintenance Electrician

We are currently recruiting for a "Maintenance Electrician" this role is to provide technical expertise with plant systems to provide equipment maintenance, utilities oversight, facilities maintenance and systems support to production. The role is a rotating shift pattern (06:00 - 14:10 Mon - Fri/14:00 - 22:10 Mon - Thur 14:00 - 19:15 Fri) and salary range is £28-33K plus £3,020 shift allowance.

Position Overview / Purpose:

To install, repair and maintain electrical equipment for the Plant and Production facility, to ensure continuity of production.


  • Provide advice and service to the plant on all aspects of electrical installation, fault finding and maintenance
  • Carry out the daily work of a maintenance technician to provide effective production support in the form of TPM
  • Involved in the programming and maintenance of the computerised measuring gauges
  • Fault finding on all electrical systems within the plant to include all coating process areas, grinding machines, manipulation equipment, ventilation systems etc
  • Involvement in the new generation of equipment being introduced particularly robotics, flexible manufacturing and motion control equipment
  • Repairs require problem solving expertise and the ability to work under pressure to meet production demands
  • To fully support all Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedure, to achieve Zero / Zero target
  • Adopt and support the principles of 5s to achieve a world class standard of 30

  • Demonstrate active involvement in the implementation of preventative measures to eliminate equipment failures
  • Develop and work with the team to deliver current and future business objectives, for example, by:
  • Ensuring clarity of expectations to deliver production goals
  • Providing regular feedback
  • Continually train and offer maintenance guidance to others
  • Demonstrate due diligence commitment to workplace health and safety through active involvement and implementation of PSTL workplace health and safety and injury management procedures

  • Fully proficient and experienced in electrical repair and installation
  • Electrical qualification - time served apprentice with 3 years' experience
  • Experience with control systems, programmable logic controllers, and process equipment typically used in manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to communicate ideas orally and in writing
  • Certified 17th edition IEE Regs
  • Have professional and confident communication skills
  • Experience in personal computers, including MS Office programs
  • High engagement, drive and initiative
  • Ability to work in a demanding user environment
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills requiring minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience in planning
  • Strong capacity to drive change and continuous improvement
